We comply with the Privacy Act 2020 and the thirteen Information Privacy Principles. By using our website or services you agree to the practices set out below.

What we collect

• Property information: the address and details of a property you are buying, selling, or asking us to appraise.
• Transaction information: if you list a property with us, financial information needed for the sale, settlement, and legal compliance.
• Communication content: messages you send through our forms, by email, phone, or in meetings.
• Technical information: IP address, browser type, device, referring URL, pages visited, and time spent on pages.
• Marketing preferences: whether you have opted in or out of marketing communications.

We collect this information directly from you when you fill out a form, contact us, or engage our services. We may also collect it from publicly available sources (e.g. property records), referrals, and from other professionals involved in your transaction (lawyers, mortgage advisers).

How we use it

We use your information to:

• Respond to your enquiries, requests for appraisals, and questions about properties.
• Provide our real estate agency services, including marketing your property and managing the sale.
• Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations under the Real Estate Agents Act 2008 and the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009.
• Send you marketing communications about properties, market updates, and our services, where you have consented.
• Improve our website and services through analytics.
• Process payments and manage our business administration.

When we share it

We may share your information with:

• Property portals (Trade Me Property, OneRoof, realestate.co.nz) when marketing your listing.
• Service providers who help us run our business: photographers, marketing and IT providers, our email and form-submission service (Formspree), and our hosting provider.
• Professional advisers involved in your transaction: lawyers, mortgage advisers, valuers, building inspectors, accountants.
• Regulatory bodies when required by law, including the Real Estate Authority and the Department of Internal Affairs (for AML obligations).
• Buyers and other parties to your transaction where reasonably necessary to complete the sale.

We do not sell your personal information. We require all service providers to handle your information in line with this policy and applicable privacy law.

Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences and help us understand how visitors use the site.

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure overall website usage (visits, page views, time on site, traffic sources). Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify you individually. Google may process this data in the United States; Google's privacy practices are available at policies.google.com/privacy.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the website may not function correctly without them.

Marketing communications

We may send you market updates, property alerts, and information about our services where you have opted in. Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, or incomplete.
• Withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time.
• Complain to us about how we have handled your information, and escalate to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner if you are not satisfied with our response.

Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. This includes encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure cloud hosting, and access controls on our internal systems. No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security, but we take our obligations seriously.

Data retention

We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it to provide our services and comply with legal obligations. Real estate transaction records are typically retained for seven years under tax and AML legislation. Marketing contact records are kept until you unsubscribe or request deletion.

Children's data

Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page. Material changes will be highlighted with a notice on our home page or by email to current clients.
